Heavily and slowly they glide along and intentionally we let nature, the wind, take the lead in discovering the wide horizon. Hot air balloons are fascinating the most people and rarely there is a chance to see them from nearby or even in action. Balloon festivals are certainly a grateful opportunity for this and with a little luck, after the flights, at dusk, the balloon glow takes place. Balloon glow, so what is that actually. A “cow burner” is used to fill the balloons with hot air and the experienced guides try to find the right balance so that the balloons do not take off. That alone is interesting, but what is fascinating is the effect created by the burners in the balloon envelope. The flames literally make the balloon glow and create a thrilling spectacle in the entire surroundings.
